Pat Sajak Leaving Wheel of Fortune? Host Says the 'End Is Near'

The Card Game to an extent is as well.

The original also had bonus games for contestants who won an IUFB, some of which were pricing prototypes of the current show's games.

What’s going on with Sajak at Wheel of Fortune lately? There’s been a lot of heavy criticism slammed against him recently from sexist remarks to being allegedly misunderstanding contestants:

Clickbait garbage, bottom-feeding excuses for “journalism” are worthless. Scooping up the posts of a few malcontents on social media and giving it a pathetic headline? Yeahhhh, no.

I am far from a Sajak fan. But this kind of stuff is laughably absurd, no matter how much I dislike him.

All of the above were replacements themselves. Barker replaced Bill Cullen. Trebek replaced Art Fleming. Pat and Vanna replaced Chuck Woolery and Susan Stafford. None of those shows are any worse for the wear, nor are their successes directly tied to a particular host. In all of the above cases, the game is the real star; the host(s) just add value.
"Price" and the Alex Trebek version of Jeopardy were revivals, both had been off the air for a number of years before new versions debuted. Wheel will be a continuation, with one or more hosts.
After the season with various guest hosts and the failed installation of producer Mike Richards as host, Jeopardy seems to have settled in with Ken Jennings hosting the day-to-day games and Miyam Bialik doing the prime-time and special weeks. They can shoot special tournaments when Miyam is available and keep rolling with shooting the day-to-day games with Ken.

I've got to say, Jeopardy! is not the same show without Alex Trebek. Ken and Mayim give it their all, and I've been trying to like it, but I'm sorry, IMHO Jeopardy! died along with Alex.

I couldn't watch the final episode. My father was in the last stages of a terminal illness around that time, and... I just couldn't. I watched M*A*S*H that night instead on MeTV.

actually, this was not a controversial "he quit mid show" thing, this was a more happier moment as the contestant that went to the final round loves Jim and his voiceover work, so pretty much, this was "Make a contestant's dream come true" moment. so this was more of a feel good moment instead of Pat being a jerk moment. pretty cool moment to make a contestant's day.

These headlines are so (bleeping) stupid. They’re garbage clickbait trawling the fools of social media for dumb remarks, and don’t deserve legitimacy of being treated like news, even news about the show.
Seriously! It's so crazy, we always joke about this when watching Wheel whenever Pat says something that could be taken out of context as controversial or inappropriate. We make up fake internet headlines that will pop up the next day. Example: "Pat storms off set, threatens to quit. Announcer forced to fill in for bonus round".
