Pat Sajak & Vanna White Sign On To Host ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Through 2024

...And with the mess that's still playing out after Trebek's demise, I'm sure they're more than happy to get Pat and Vanna locked in for at least another 3 years! It says the show's announcer will have an expanded on-screen role this coming season. Wonder what that means exactly? They're also re-working the theme music, which is something Jeopardy was known to do every several years. Some renditions of the Jeopardy theme and "thinking" music were more memorable than others.

More than reworking, bringing back the last version of the theme from the shows heyday, in some new form. The host description sounds a bit George Gray like with the on-set podium.

Hopefully they release a full version of the new song. I really never understood why shows are usually so protective of releasing their theme music when people easily can splice it and make a pretty close to full version anyways.

So they are bringing back the old theme from the '80s/'90s, albeit remixed? Make it look a little 'retro', I guess. But that won't stop the nearly-absurd bonus round phrases, I'm guessing...full of Qs, Js, and Ys for most contestants to choke on....

The new season premiered this past Monday night. Of course, any time there's "change" you are bound to get mixed reactions, especially to a show that's been around as long as Wheel of Fortune. It seems more than a few are posting negatives about the music more than anything:

What happens if Vanna gets old? How do they keep that from happening?
She's 64 and considering they've just signed on to do 3 more seasons, she'll be 67 years old when their current contract is up. Lots of people are working way longer than that. The hair is easy as beauticians and if need be, modern-day wigs can work wonders. The face is also easy as there's always surgery, cosmetics and with the way some types of makeup and fillers are applied by airbrush these days, nearly any face can made to look flawless. That said, if you look at recent photos where Vanna is sleeveless, her arms are definitely showing her age. That's not meant to be a criticism; all of us will lose skin elasticity at that age.

I guess it's an age factor, but there are more 50+ women that look good to me now than there seemed to be when I was younger. But I'd think that plastic surgery and makeup help as well, that there wasn't as much of in the past. And there's probably a factor of thinking the same women I thought looked good in their teens, 20's, and 30's that I still think look good now (although not always! :p)

There are two women I went to high school with who actually look better now than they did then. It's weird.

And others who look their ages. Even some of those who were pretty then.
