PAUL REVERE (WICE in the early 60s)

In the early 60s there was a guy on WICE (1290 AM) who called himself Paul Revere. Just curious if anyone knows who he was. Obviously, because of the historical nature of that name, it's one that is remembered easily.

He would have been on in the same era as King Arthur Knight. By the way, what happened to him?

His name was Dick Brown. Later worked at WCOP in Boston and many other stations. He lived near me in cheap apartment building. Had RI license plates PR333 (those would be valuable numbers in RI).

Wow, that was quick! Thank you so much for the info. I remember Dick Brown...in Worcester for a long time as well, I think. I had no idea that would have been the Paul Revere on WICE.

My mistake...I confused Dick Brown with Dick Smith, a longtime Worcester personality. I checked a couple of radio sites and verified that Dick Brown did work at WCOP, as well as WDRC, Hartford and WFEA, Manchester, NH, among others. There was no mention of him being Paul Revere on WICE, but I'm sure Tony R's posting is accurate...especially given he knew where he lived and his license plate back then.

King Arthur Knight is alive and well...If you hang around Foxwoods Black Jack tables I think you may see him.....

As an employee of the casino or a frequent patron?
