Paul Wilcox, of Cleveland's "Polka Varieties" passes away..

Paul Wilcox, longtime host of "Polka Varieties" on WEWS-TV 5 Cleveland, died last Friday at his home in Florida..He also was station announcer, Read the noon news in the 1960's, co-hosted the "Paige Palmer Show" and did sportscasts..

According to the WEWS web site, Wilcox hosted Polka Varieties with Frankie Yankovic Sunday afternoons at 1 from 1956-83..Polka Varieties was syndicated to 30 markets in the late 70's-early 80's..And was one of the last local Polka shows on broadcast TV..
