Pay TV Sees Mass Exodus As Cord-Cutters Jump More Than 30% In 2018

The pace of cord-cutting is accelerating.

At some level this becomes a self-feeding phenomenon. I have to admit I am thinking about it, and one of the major reasons is that as the pool of pay TV subscribers continues to shrink dramatically, the cable companies are just going to spread their costs among those of us who are still left, meaning major price increases.

Is Pay TV like the malls, a dying relic of the 80's?

Keep in mind that they're still connected by cords, just not as much to traditional cable networks. But most likely they're using some form of ISP, either from a telco company or a cable company. So you can pay them for cable or pay them for high speed internet. The check goes to the same place. Part of why companies like Comcast and AT&T are diversifying.
