PBRTV Reports WGBN 1360 WMMY 1150 Off The Air

WWOW 1360 from Conneaut Ohio has been fading in and out during the day here in North Hills, they sound pretty good.

December 5 2016, WGBN has an Application for 1 KW Sta from their nighttime site in Lincoln Boro. Stating they " Lost their Daytime Site".

With the snow here in the North Hills WWOW Conneaut is blaring in on 1360. In measuring distance on Google Maps their transmitter is 97 miles from my home.

My understanding is that the nighttime directional site is in very bad need of repair, the 1340 frequency has been vacated over the last few years by four radio stations. In 1974 WBCW on 1530 came on the air they were twelve miles line of sight from WPSL 1510 and 15 miles line of sight from WLOA 1550, all three sinals were listenable. I wonder could WGBN move to 1340 ? WGBN is 12 miles from WJAS I don't know if it would work maybe Scott Fybush could weigh in.

No way it would be possible, their 5mv/m contours cannot overlap. WJAS 5mv/m goes out about 12 miles....WGBN at 250 watts would would have a 5 mv/ contour of about 4 miles so they would have to have about 16 to 17 miles site to site to even have a chance of making it work.

1150 WMNY is being sold for $180,000 will that be enough to retool the 1360 site with 5 KW day and 1 KW 4 tower directional night?

1360 WGBN has been off the last few Mornings and WWOW from Conneyaut Ohio is coming in clear. It's a great station.
