The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters will be conducting a digital television test tomorrow 11/17 on all Pennsylvania TV stations at 6:25 PM EST. That means that participating stations will turn off their analog transmitter at 6:25 PM EST for 60 seconds, leaving unprepared viewers with a snowy screen or a message notifying them that they are not ready for the Feb. 17 2009 digital television transition. For more info: http://www.pab.org/pdfs/11172008_DTVTest.pdf

Very important: Please Read

Just about 2 hours away. Posters: If you have cable or satellite I would like you to post your observations here on whether your TV station signal from were you live in PA vanished or not at 6:25 PM tonight and if its possible, can you post video of that from the channel that you are recording from.

Verizon FiOS TV in Dover, DE: All PA stations stayed on. I was worried as I saw ghosting on 57, a sure sign of analog reception. I guess they switched to the DTs as all channels stayed on. :D

Here in the Borough of Hanover in the beautiful Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I just passed my test. There was absolutely no change when analogue was turned off.

In the Las Vegas market, the TV stations are using DTV/analog tests as a sort of promotion.

"We were first to provide it to you...."
"We have provided more tests than the other TV stations..."

etc.

Pretty lame!
