Pensacola's "The Groove" to broadcast Mobile BayBears baseball & ESPN Radio HD

Interesting news: The Mobile BayBears have reached a deal with Clear Channel for all of its games to be broadcast on the HD2 channel of WRGV 107.3 "The Groove". The same channel has (or will soon feature) ESPN Radio HD outside of live baseball, apparently.

I noticed ESPN on WYCL's HD-2 channel around the time they flipped to "The Grove." I'm not very familiar with ESPN sports radio, but they were talking about plays as if I was watching a video. I don't have the sports package on cable, but could they be simulcasting the ESPN News TV network the same way some radio stations simulcast CNN Headline News?

The HD signals are very weak in Pensacola tonight. I can't get the radio to lock in the HD signals of 107.3 or TK 101.

Sports will be on YCL's main signal soon enough....just a guess. Grooves gotta short shelf life. Look at ATL.

Rob have you been listening to 102.1 the wave lately? They have dropped the "we play everything" moniker. Completely changed their imaging and lean heavily classic rock.They are pretty much back to their old format.

Well Tibbs, to be honest with you, ever since Rob put up his big DX antenna array and got that Grundig receiver in Navarre, it sucks all the signal coming from La and so we don't get any of those stations anymore here in PC......things are getting boring on this board again....something needs to happen.....................maybe it will.................. in a few weeks...........................................

What kind of HD radio are you using, if you don't mind me asking? I may be moving to Baldwin County before the end of the year and I'm curious what HD I can get there. (The maps say 'everything!' but the real world, especially with HD, is often far different.)

Zach ~ maybe rob and you could share a nice place on the beaches of Navarre. Look for that big dx tower that CCENG mentioned. I hear it's 10,000 ft, made from aluminum foil that glows, flashes, gyates and pulsates at night. Zach, ever seen a strobey? I think maybe Roswell, New Mexico is the only other place in America with HD and DX so mysteriously strong. Move down to Navarre. We need you and rob to team up.
