Petition for 1210 WPHT to get Sean Hannity to be aired Live from 3-6 PM Monday-Friday
But would WPHT-1210 want to instead do a local show during PM drive??

it doesn't make sense for a major radio station that can be heard across the USA at night to run a tape delayed show. Dick Morris is not working in the afternoons. Andy Bloom is too thickheaded to realize that. 1210 should have not picked up Hannity if they couldn't air it live.But would WPHT-1210 want to instead do a local show during PM drive??
Why? They got better numbers with Hannity than anything since Smerconish in afternoons. It's not the studio they emanate from, especially with political talk. It's the ability to entertain and expand the core audience. As has been mentioned, if PHT is taking Hannity back long-term, Hannity live is likely the replacement for the hapless Morris when Morris' contract runs out.But would WPHT-1210 want to instead do a local show during PM drive??
They make more money with their own show than with a syndicated show. Period. And drive time is the best opportunity to make money. So they run the local show where it can make the most, and stick the syndication where it won't hurt. If it gets better ratings at that time, great. But there's more opportunity to make money, regardless of the ratings, with a local show.
And forget about petitions. They won't have any effect. This is a financial decision.

Now THAT'S gotta be weird. His ex-producer is now his boss. I could see that being very awkward for some hosts.
Regardless, I wouldn't expect this new PD to do anything but the talkradio status-quo, epecially since the GM has declared that only conservatives will be on the air at WPHT.

It could easily be argued that a "major station" should be the least likely to go on auto-pilot in drive-time, just like a station in Podunk Montana.

The "core" that talk managers decided to pander/cater to, is irreversibly shrinking. There's NOTHING that can be done to change that.

Even then, local makes more money than syndicated.

CBS should buyout his contract now so they can take dick Morris off the air or move him to evenings. Ether way, he can't stay from 3-6 too much longer. Andy bloom and the new PD need to realize it.probably will have to wait until Morris' contract is up.

It's really true, and explains why they're NOT putting Hannity in PM drive.
1210 should have not picked up Hannity if they couldn't air it live.
Huh? If they hadn't picked it up, the show would have gone void in Philly. They did the show a great service by running it at all.

I wouldn't mind if Hannity doesn't get aired in Philly anymore. I still stand by what I have said that 1210 should be airing Hannity live and move Morris to another time or drop his show.Huh? If they hadn't picked it up, the show would have gone void in Philly. T.

because its common sense.What's so important in Hannity's show that it airs live? He's been saying basically the same thing for years. They could air a show from 4 years ago, and no one would notice.
