Philadelphia Arbitron Radio Ratings: June 2012San Francisco: http://www.radio-in

Philadelphia: http://www.radio-info.com/markets/philadelphia

Publicly released age 6+ overall rankings for the June 2012 survey period covering Thu. 5/24/12 - Wed. 6/20/12.

The next survey period will be for July 2012 covering Thu. 6/21/12 - Wed. 7/18/12 with the report release date being Mon. 8/6/12.

Note: stations that do not subscribe to Arbitron in certain markets will not show in those markets.

WOGL, WMGK, WRFF, WXTU, WRDW, WBEN, WISX all up significantly. WIP(AM and FM), WPHT, and WPEN down significantly.

I guess people realized what kind of season this is going to be for the Phillies.

Nothing for WWIQ yet?

Now that all the public numbers are subscribers only, you can keep your numbers away from the radio geeks by not subscribing till you're good and ready for them to be released.

Who would've thought we'd see the day where RFF and IOQ have the same share.

Congratulations to WRFF, to get a 5.2 in this age, playing that type of music, what a sucess. Whoever is programming that station is a winner. Too bad Clear Channel didn't have one more FM in New York, they could do WRFF in NYC and it would do well. Not a 5.2, but it would do well.

My thoughts exactly!! NYC is the only major market in the country without a rock station. It's appalling. I will just sit back and laugh as WEMP continues to get it's .6's. In Chicago, the resurrected Q101 on 87.7 gets double the cume of the 101.1 Merlin news station there. That company is filled with old arrogant men, stuck in their ways. When will they realize young people get their news from the Internet?

While I may agree that a station like WRFF would work in NYC (I think every Alternative station should sound like WRFF, easily my favorite radio station), the fact is Modern Rock has been tried and failed MANY times in NY. Sure, many of them were programmed badly, but I think there's just enough history of the format bombing in the city to scare companies from putting Modern Rock there, even if they could program a success.

I agree completely, all were programmed badly in NYC, however there have only been two. I grew up up there, and listened to K-Rock, a stale boring station. When they came back the second time (2005 or so), they had almost the same playlist they had in the 90s while i was in high school! Then RXP came along, which was promising, but they mixed in classic rock, which was a mistake.

Also, "fail" is relative. WRXP failed. But the station that replaced it is failing worse.

It's true - WRXP got sold is more like it. WEMP is a laughing stock train wreck, like our WWIQ (.2 in the last booK).

I think CC is maxed out in the NYC with five FMs. That being the case if they wanted an RFF they'd need to blow up one of their FMs to get it.

Don't forget WNEW, even though their playlist was as all over the place as WRXP. I wonder if GM would be able to put on an alternative like their WBOS in Boston and make it successful in NY. WBOS plays a bit too much Classic Rock and Modern AC for my tastes, but it's also doing pretty well in it's market.

KRock was great until 2005 when it was pulled off the air.
RXP was horrific.
I think CC should blow up KTU because although it's heritage to NYC, it overlaps music with Z-100 their #1 CHR station and with Power 105.1 as well as Lite FM.

Are you drunk? KTU gets almost as good of ratings as Z 6+ and bills more than an alternative format ever could in NYC. If it didn't bill as high as it does, CC would care about the overlap. Sorry, but no alternative format in NY will come from CC.

Go WOGL go! Wow!

I think this should put those "CBS is going to do the same thing to WOGL that they did to WODS in Boston" nonsense to a rest.

What's WOGL doing that's making them so successful? Because whatever it is, it's working!

Seriously. Clear Channel is killing it in New York. They shouldn't change a thing.

I know it's 6+, but they have the No. 1, 2, 5, 7 and 9 stations in the market, for a total AQH share of 26.7. KTU is 5th in the market with a 4.8 share. They're gonna blow that up? Why?
