Philadelphia Radio PPM Ratings: February 2018

Big jumps for WMGK and WOGL though I don't think there were any big changes to the products. MoreFM holding steady, almost a point better than what they were doing pre-Christmas and well out ahead of WTDY (who has since abandoned ship). WDAS dropped more than a point. WRFF bounced back from the typical holiday malaise so just calm down already. LOL. WOGL’s stream showed up again. So a couple big moves but everyone else looks status quo.
 
WPHT remained flat. I wonder will at somepoint, entercom gives up on a format that's not going to draw ratings and that everyone hates. All 1210 is doing is making money. You must have both to survive long term to have any chance. The fact 1210 makes money, and not getting good ratings is a problem and sooner than later, it will catch up with them. I'm done with my 1210 rant.

Is there something wrong with that? That's the goal, not to make ratings. If a station can make money with a 1 share, that's great.

There is no "long term" in radio. 1210 has changed formats many time during its history.

True but, I disagree that they be happy with a 1 share. to me, that's bad. Who knows how long will Entercom keep spending money on this format. I think 1210 AM post WCAU has changed format 3 times. I won't be shocked if its a 4th coming down the road.

It makes money.

There is no alternative format.

They’ll keep spending money roughly as long as it makes money for them. There is no, zero, nada other viable option that would yield the same money they’re making.

Why is this such a hard concept to grasp?
