Pioneering Former WNBC Meteorologist Frank Field Dies at 100

My memories of Frank Field date back to my childhood in the '60s.

In 1971, his on-air demonstration of the Heimlich maneuver had drawn strong criticism from the medical profession, which had not yet approved the first-aid procedure. In 1985, while at dinner at an old CBS hangout, colleague Warner Wolf used the technique to save Field's life.
