Pirate on 89.7 FM at the University of Louisville Area?

As I have been traveling through downtown Louisville on Interstate 65 during the last few days, I picked up a signal on 89.7 FM near the University of Louisville. During the week, I heard Christian Praise Music album on this frequency. On Saturday evening around 7:00, it sounded like they were airing a live Church service featuring a Christian Rap artist. I was able to get the signal from the Watterson Expressway ramp to the Broadway ramp and it was at the strongest by the UofL area or Eastern Parkway exit on I-65.

I was out one day messing around with my Sirius Satellite system driving around Louisville. Anyway, I set my receiver at 89.7 which got me the same results as you when their more powerful signal overtook the satellite signal through FM. I tracked the signal back to the U of L campus area and I suspect that it is a student ran station from the campus area rather than a pirate. I haven't bothered to look but I suspect if you look at the FCC database you can find out what broadcasts on that frequency.

Cheers,

John
