Pittsburgh Steelers Radio Network is now on WYTS 1230 AM / 105.3 FM in Columbus

I noticed that the Pittsburgh Steelers website has now been updated to reflect that WYTS 1230 AM / 105.3 FM in Columbus is now an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Steelers Radio Network.

Interesting aside – lots of NFL games tonight as it is the last day of the pre-season and I have never seen this before on Columbus TV: Team produced pre-season games on all the Big 3 channels at the same time – 4 (NBC) – Steelers, 6 (ABC) – Bengals, and 10 (CBS) Browns. Good move by Channel 4 (NBC – WCMH) in becoming an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Steelers Pre-Season Television Network.

It sure confused (and irritated) a lot of people earlier this month when WCMH shuffled the games to 4.2 because of the Olympics, which in turn blacked out Steelers broadcasts on NFL Network when that had never happened in this market before. I don't think that was publicized much at all, and a lot of people were left in the dark.
Figured some station would pick up the games, but I wasn't sure it'd be 1230.

Posting to the other forum as well… Interest bit in the broadcast sports section of the Sports section (page 2) in today’s “Columbus Dispatch.” The Pittsburgh Steelers game tonight is on WYTS 105.3 FM while the Cincinnati Reds are on WYTS 1230 AM. I thought the translator and the main station maintain the same programing – is this a clerical error on the part of the “Dispatch”, or can different programming air on the two frequencies?

How many people in Columbus get the NFL Network but not WCMH?

Wasn't the main WCMH they had to worry about, but rather the subchannel 4.2, which is not carried on satellite but only on some cable systems. In that case, I think the blackout on NFL Network ought to have been lifted, but these blackout rules usually don't make sense anyway.
