RIP to a Charles Levin.
Police have confirmed that a body found in July in a southern Oregon ravine was that of Charles Levin, a former Hollywood actor who had been missing from his Grants Pass home for several days.
Reports from Grants Pass Public Safety show that police officers were contacted July 8 by Levin’s son Jesse, who reported his father missing.
Levin, who was known for TV appearances on shows including “Seinfeld,” “The Golden Girls” and “Hill Street Blues," was last seen June 27. Levin’s car, an orange Fiat, was found July 13, with the remains of his dog, a pug named Boo Boo, found on the floor of the passenger side. A body was found outside the car and was believed to be Levin’s, but police didn’t immediately confirm the identity of the remains in July.
Police reports released to the public in November confirm the body as Levin’s and describe a search for the missing man that included combing miles of rugged backcountry roads, as well as tracking by Air Force mapping and search and rescue crews. Police “pinged” Levin’s phone, which was last tracked on Eight Dollar Mountain, and had not had any activity since July 4.
RIP to a Charles Levin.
