I was surprised that more RSN hadn't done something similar, and sooner. That's especially true when Bally Sports gobbled up some or all of the Fox Sports RSNs, then started announcing cost cutting measures almost immediately after that purchase. While I'm sure it's not as 'convenient' to the broadcast crews when they need to work "remotely" during away games, and it doesn't allow them to build as much rapport and camaraderie with the team that sometimes comes from traveling, dining and staying in hotels with them while on the road, personally I noticed no big difference in the way the games were called and the quality of the announcing when our RSN team stayed home and called games from their home arena when the team was traveling during the pandemic. I'm sure there are some things they miss from not being in the actual arena during the game, but again, when RSNs are trying to cut back on spend, not having to take a number of guys with them and saving on all those flights, hotels, meals and other incidentals helps.
