As you can see Power 106 did agree on certain R&B hits. The R&B titles found in Power 106's Top 30 were SWV's Can We, Keith Sweat's Twisted, Rome's I Belong to You, Jodeci's Feenin',Fugees Killing Me Softly,Changing Faces G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T and En Vogue's Don't Let Go. Urban rival KKBT had the same R&B but had Erykah Badu's Next Lifetime, Dru Hill's Never Make a Promise. Power 106's you'll find more rap titles than R&B, you were less likely to see more than 3 R&B ballads on the playlist. This from the billboard biz website.

I wanted to edit my post but my time ran out. Another smooth R&B that you'll find on Power 106's top 30 is BLACKstreet's Don't Leave Me.

1997, IMO, was one of the best years of the 90s for Urban radio (especially on the R&B side), but it seems like a lot of the hits singles of that year are forgotten....especially the ones from earlier in the year

We great music in the 90's period but back to my post. KKBT also played Christian Hip Hop/Urban Contemporary Gospel artist Kirk Franklin & God's Property's 1997 mega hit Stomp day in and day out too which became a top 5 hit on KKBT. Rome's I Belong to You was No. 1 at KKBT and in the Top 5 at KPWR. BLACKstreet Don't Leave was in the Top 20 at KPWR and Changing Faces G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T. was in the Top 10 at KPWR plus En Vogue Don't Let Go, Fugees Killing Me Softly(which was a recurrent because KPWR added the record on the week of February 26, 1996 as an album cut), Keith Sweat's Twisted(also a recurrent because KPWR started playing that record in May 1996) and Jodeci's Feenin'(super recurrent because they started playing the Jodeci record in 1994 when it was current). KKBT's top R&B staples included Ginuwine's Pony, Toni Braxton's I Love Me Some Him and Dru Hill's Never Make A Promise.
