In the 90's we've had MC Lyte and Queen Latifah the first female MC's before stupid Nicki Manaj. Queen & Mc Lyte true lyricists.wdb2003 said:Your in a new generation of music and rap has had its heyday. The money is in producing music why do you think Missy hasnt made a new album yet. She makes more money writing songs for artist. Alot of r&b and pop stars from the 90's write music for today's artist.

of course KDAY is doing it. I'm surprised Power 106 is mixing Nate Dogg with their currents. Keep it up Power 106, keep the Nate Dogg hits coming not for this moment but from now on.kilamanjero said:BJordan said:Power 106 was doing a special tribute to Nate Dogg. Their listeners who are now in their late 30's early 40's but were adolesence in the 80's loved House music then 90's and early 2000's came and the then new generation of adolescence who are now in their late 20's and early 30's wanted to listen to Hip Hop & R&B now my era wants to listen to Electro Hip Hop. Hey I got to give to Power 106 they bought KJLH to their knees in the 80's. In the 90's and early 2000's had competed with KKBT and of course bought them to their knees. Now their competing with Amp radio.wdb2003 said:Its to attract Hispanic listeners. Times have changed and all their doing is trying to stay in business. Hip hop is not as popular as it was back in the 90's and early 2000. Im african american but those days of them being urban are over. If you listen at night youll hear more hip hop but during the day youll hear lady gaga or katy perry. But I hear what youre saying I miss urban radio in la too.
They need to ban Chris Brown again. Y'all heard what he did in NY? Freakin' blonde haired retard.BJordan said:They added Chris Brown No Bs. R&B is greatly increased at KPWR.
Rapping about how angry you are is a thing of the past. Do you think that the Power 106 would want hear somebody rapping about their guns, drive by and killing somebody? No. That was in a thing of 2001 but now in 2011 Power 106 won't touch any of those violent record not to my knowledge. About me wanting to hear recurrents on Power 106 I don't anymore. I have my iPhone for Hip Hop/R&B throwbacks. I love Lupe Fiasco The Show Goes On, Wiz Kalifah Roll Up, Lupe Fiasco Out of My head featuring Trey Songz and Back Seat New Boyz Featuring Dev Aston Martin Music Rick Ross, Buzzin Mann Featuring 50 Cent Party Rock Anthem LMFAO as well as Shots and I'm in L.A.wdb2003 said:I agree but this is a hispanic market 80% which is Power's core listeners. Hispanics perfer rhythnmic and pop tracks. We are in a new generation so what you hear on the westcoast you wont hear back east or in the midwest. As agree today's music sucks never thought I would hear myself say that.

"Whoomp There it is" and "Hip Hop Hooray" or "It Was a Good Day" came out eons ago..those were the days! Rap music has mostly faded into a memory. And the "Gangsta" rap lyrics.....so out of style now. Music has changed for the better lately with artists like Bruno Mars, Maroon 5 and Katy Perry, thank goodness!
Sounds like the pop scene has made a wonderful comeback lately and 105.9 is taking advantage of it. Reminds me of the pop movement of 1998-99. Yeah I remember when pop ruled the airwaves in 1998-99. Britney Spears, N'Sync, Backstreet Boys and Christina Agulera. Great acts. KIIS-FM used to play those acts in 1998 though.
Wow I understand how you feel.blazin2009 said:I AM DONE LISTENING TO POWER 106 IN MY OPION 93.5 KDAY IS WAY BETTER THE ONLY WAY I AM LISTENING TO POWER 106 WHEN THEY GO BACK TO THERE DANCE ROOTS UNTIL THEN POWER IS DEAD AND HIP HOP IS DEAD IN THIS GENERATION I DONT SEE THE NEW GENERATION HIP HOP ARTIST MAKING IT BIG.
