Predict The First Cancellation Of The 2010-11 Season

Wouldn't it be funny if, due to low ratings, the producers of "The Event" - excuse me, "The Ev3nt" - would have to bring in ALF for a cameo?

The only funny line in the debut episode was Shatner commenting that nobody does a decent impersonation of him. Otherwise it was your typical mediocre (laugh-tract) sit com.

I just took a peek at last night's ratings. "My Generation" slid even further from last week's weak premiere. It garnered a mere 1.1 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic, placing ABC sixth in the 8 to 9 p.m. (Eastern) time slot. Two factors -- the aforementioned low numbers and the important lead-out -- lead me to believe "My Generation" is not long for this world. "Grey's Anatomy," one of ABC's highest rated programs, is that lead-out.

Yup. I see ABC officially made the call yesterday afternoon, which shouldn't be a shock to anyone. This has been an interesting start to the season. We have several very obvious bombs on the major broadcasters' airwaves. It looks like just a matter of time before "Outlaw" (NBC) and "The Whole Truth" (ABC) get the hook as well.

I'm surprised FOX continues to air "The Good Guys." The show did poorly throughout its summer run and is continuing the trend this fall. Based on last night's preliminary numbers, it notched a 0.7 18-49 rating. Its lead-in, a "House" rerun, fared slightly better, which is telling.

In Tuesday's 8 o'clock hour, arguably one of the most competitive time periods on TV this season (opposite Fox's Glee, CBS' NCIS and NBC's The Biggest Loser), ABC's No Ordinary Family exhibited solid retention of its week-earlier premiere, while continuing to grow its audience throughout its broadcast and deliver big year-over-year time period growth for ABC...

I was. It's more of a conventional multi-part mystery now but I want to see how it comes out.

I considered both shows but I just don't have time. "The Defenders" meets my need for legal drama. I've never liked Jim Belushi more.

Still, it's a great show, at least in terms of entertainment value if not quality.
 
It appears as if this is the eighth ABC vehicle Julie Benz has appeared in. "Hi, Honey, I'm Home," anyone?
 
Okay... I might have been wrong about "No Ordinary Family" - but I was right with this prediction:

You know you're watching television because in real life nobody as good looking as Julie Benz would end up marrying a guy that looks like "Vic Mackey." ;D
