President Trump and his rants on 2 MSNBC talk show hosts.

My bet is all the free publicity hasn't hurt MSNBC.

These things may energize his base, but they also energize the opposition.

The fact is that their affair was a rumor long before any discussion of an Enquirer expose. By the time it came out, they were already engaged.

Dan Abrams' legal blog is discussing her legal options, to sue him for defamation. The catch is that all the coverage is actually helping her career.

At some point, someone in the media should consider legal action. It would definitely make a great first amendment case.
 
Dang that's insane the libel laws will end up being used against Trump. Funny how the libel laws Trump talked about was originally used for his cabinet to go after his critics. I say it ends with trump getting stung by his own medicine.

He hasn't mentioned either of those companies in any tweet, and hasn't given either of them interviews.

He gets his news from one place, and his fans are there too. They speak, he tweets. Hannity ran a montage of clips from Morning Joe on Wednesday night, and Thursday morning he started his attack on them. Direct relationship.

But wait I seen both the Megyn Kelly/infowars interview 2 weeks ago and the recent John Oliver rant on Sinclair. These two companies have been specifically named with circumstantial evidence saying that the leaderships of companies mentioned for having connections to Trump Cabinet and the hard core supporters. Yes in both cases the size of their power was at play here.

Sounds like you're creating a conspiracy theory.

People aren't watching Sinclair stations because of the politics of the owners. They're watching to see shows they like.

True it comes off that way though. But then again these talking points are out there but I can't really make these connections myself though. Nor that I can say they are confirmed to be true either.

There's no such thing as bad publicity, especially when it's free. CNN couldn't buy this much attention.

If they agree with him. But so far, even his own party doesn't. So there's no real upside for him. Take a look at the polls.
 
Trump's base eats that stuff up though. That's not enough but don't under-estimate that when it comes to re-election time for Republicans in Congress. .

The problem with this poll is it compares a person with a thing.

The word "media" lumps everything into one group. Fox News is media, so is Breitbart. So is the Wall Street Journal. Obviously they have different rankings. The real story is that no one trusts anything.

It's like talking about "radio."

If you go the full story, trust of Congress is equal to the Media.

Trump's "do not trust at all" ranking is 41% compared to the media's 22%.

Trust is high for "Intelligence Community" and "courts," as well as results of elections. The president is attacking all three.
