I toldly agree with you and sent her an email telling her so and I am switching to another channel for my news for them allowing that on. She did send me a reply, although her reply was a weak as the story. BDH had her on this show today about it. Her reply to me was very similar to what she said on air. Russ really needs counseling and it appears that might be helpful to those who are so devoted to him as well.

First off Tv wise if it weren't for Bret Shipp, Brad Watson or Jim Douglas,you wouldn't have news or journalism on WFAA-TV. Second ,Janet st. James needs to stick to health reporting, and quit allowing her frendship to be mined and exploited by Russ to keep his name alive other than this board. Third,The only attention Russ will receive is here,plain and simple. Outside this board,apart from St. James "attempt" at a journailistic interview, no one truly actually cares. Russ will never make what he did at CBS post 2011,and with the economy in its pressnt form with no true end in sight,no corporate station, let alone 1360 can afford him, monetary wise and stigma of being a woman beater ( they showed photos of the marks on his GF ..surprisingly!). He Pleaded "NO Contest" meaning he didn't dispute the charge, meaning there is some truth to him actually committing the act. the subject will smolder here for a few weeks come labor day,the topic is older than dried mold,and his career . He is not a good candidate for syndication, his Austin attempted failed ver yquickly. He is NOT known outside DFW,as compared to the other syndicated pkgs that have come and gone here from their points of origin. He has a same old tired schtick that he hates anything and everybody. His last year on the air his ratings were going down faster than a lead laden cruise ship,even among his targeted demographics. His audience mostly grew up, and moved on.

I know 1360 has gotten a rep as a dumping ground of talent, but I always did like Richard Hunter. After I found out he was on 1360 I started listening to his 4pm to 6pm show at work and during my drive home. Now that P&K are on, although I was not a dedicated fan of theirs, I'm now listening to 1360 from 1pm to 6pm. P&K are actually much better on 1360 (much fewer commericals and no music). Several other people in my office are listening to Richard Hunter and P&K as well. I never thought I would be listening to AM radio ever, but face it, DFW radio sucks!! 1360 has the only talk I can tolerate...I'm not right wing or a sports fanatic.

I enjoyed P&K's discussion about Russ, but it was Richard Hunter who really gave insight into what was going on behind the scene at 105.3. If what he said was true, Russ is a real a-hole, and hopefully will never be on the radio again. I was never a fan anyway.

I guess.... and it's just a guess... if any of them had caught "lightening in a bottle" and got that success...they would change their tune pretty fast. But how much credibility do any of them really have... pugs and kelly... yea innocent victims - BDH - bigger ego than russ - and Greggo. Though to be fair - save for people on CB radio - who is going to be jealous of them.

Or to put it another way - if it were Russ on 1360 whining like that with grego and pugs and kelly about Jagger - people would see it for what it is. people whining about their old jobs. wha wha wha.

I've had a number of interactions with him, and I have never seen any signs of ego ala other radio people.
And no, I wasn't in any elevated position so that he'd have treated me better or whatever.

A fellow button pusher over there tells me Bob Lovell is a big sponsor. So I would guess he's paying the tab, or at least part of it, just like any other sponsor.
The arrangements may be different than at other stations, but it all comes out the same.
Somebody pays the bills, somebody else creates the show, and somebody else puts it on the air.

Oh No Not at All. I have nothing against these guys

I was simply saying that 1360 is a rent a station. as are most of the stations its company owns. Rational Radio leases the time there. Which is why Biz Radio Left. Rational Radio got the lease[after Biz Radio Went To 1110]. I have nothing at all against 1360 or P&K or BDH. In fact i wish them very very good luck.

As For Bob Lovell airing Ads. If im not mistaken, He is paying P&K or whichever show his ads are on. Just Because you are on a rent a station doesn't mean people cant pay YOU for ads.

As For a job in radio? I wish

Also I was Pointing out that Russ could end up on 1360 if he would shell out the cash.

Also Im Very Happy That 1360 broke the BOOKS!!!! I bet Mike is Happy as well.

And Being On A Rent A Station really shouldnt mean much. Alot Of Shows do this to get on stations in big markets so other stations will pick them up.

Before we can answer that we would have to figure out which of the original R&D was which. I think Ron was the one that got all shouty and rode his bicycle out of the Dallas market. Or was that Don? It was so hard to tell even back then, and so many years have passed.
