I think getting 10 dance songs on ChR to be hits would be a more substainable goal for 2009.
I'm going gutsy with what I'm trying to do and I'll admit, it will be tough.
But the 10 dance songs? That I do see as a sure thing happening.

I'll even go and say 20 for good measure, with at least 3 of them on any given rotation at the same time.
Tony, I give you alot of credit for what you do. It's attitudes like yours that change things. You get slamed alot on these boards........not sure why but you do a great job of promoting dance and have made a difference. Things are looking up for dance music which is once again becoming more mainstream as hip, hop's popularity declines slightly.
Dance has always been huge in Europe and has never caught on as much in the US. but that is undoubtedly due to lack of exposure and missconception as to what the genre actually is.
Pulse 87 is a great cutting edge station. Musically I believe they are one of the best in the country.
I'd love to see them on a better frequency but if we look at Pulse as an experiment...ie, niche format on a niche station...it generates buzz, which it has then you get exposure. It's similar to what urban radio did back in the 80's when it aired in midsize markets on college and non commercial stations. It got exposure, became mainstream, got it's own stations and began rotation on CHR stations. Next thing we knew you had white kids in the suburbs listening to it and white rappers nonetheless.
