PULSE 87 TO BE RATED AS A RADIO STATION STARTING APRIL PPM BOOK

I'm down here at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. Joel Salkowitz confirmed that himself during a radio discussion panel. Hopefully this will boost up billings. But more importantly, let's see it ON PAPER in comparison to the other stations!

Is that true for all Channel 6's in analog?

From Radio-Info's news section:

Up until now, stations such New York’s “Pulse 87” – which is really the audio of a low power Channel 6 TV station – weren’t eligible for inclusion in the usual research. Arbitron had created separate reports for the Mega Media Group CHR station. But starting in April, such stations will be included, as long as they meet minimum reporting standards, and they also have these characteristics: “The programming is transmitted under the lawful authority of the FCC. The programming is marketed exclusively to radio listeners.” And that it be “audio-only programming or otherwise unaccompanied by visual advertising content.” That policy change comes as Mega Media works on creating other “87 FM” stations, possibly in Chicago and Los Angeles.
