How do you know people in the grocery industry don't have a passion for it? That's pretty presumptuous of you.
Talk about presumption! I didn't take a position; I asked if they have a board!Gee, it appears that you might be someone that thinks pretty highly of the wages jocks get paid. Tell me, have YOU ever been faced with the decision to work at a grocery store and feed your family, or stay with only radio and starve?? I'll venture to "ASS"ume that you might be someone with a cushy chair in a corner office that has a housekeeper that does your grocery shopping so that you never have to see the lights inside Food Lion...or better yet, look at the prices and figure out if you can make it without your MVP card. I've met TONS of people who think their job at Wal-Mart and Food Lion, etc, is pretty damn great.
I asked if they had a board! The rest are assumptions on your part. Incorrect ones, at that.

First... I totally agree with your take on J.L. NOW, you should know that her behavior goes way further back than WINC, Q102 or Apple Country. At one point, she was a secretary, Traffic Manager at a Berryville, Va. station known as WWOO "Country 105." Now known as 104.9/105.5. Although Jenny Lynn is not affiliated with the later. At the WWOO, she had a real reputation just like the one at Q102. Any male with a uniform, a badge and a wedding ring was full on game for Jenny. When the station WWOO was in the process of being sold, Jenny Lynn & then General Manager Rob Thurston (an entire trilogy of terror stories in himself) went out and made many shady deals with local merchants in exchange for advertising which they both knew would never be honored. It's for these reasons, your own posted accounts of her and much more that she has now gone basically... radio dark! She is married to The River 95.3's morning host Randy Woodward who was a fixture at Q102 as well. If anyone out there knows whatever happened to that character "Rob Thurston" I'd sure like to hear from ya; about it. Thanks for reading.

Rob Thurston I think is in Arizona. Some place in that state I believe. He was on Facebook about five years ago and said he was there. Doing radio ?? I don't know as he never mentioned it.

As for Jenny Lynn she now works at a coffee shop at the Winchester Medical Center. She is happy to talk about her radio days like Charle Fish former PD of WFQX who now runs Murphys Beverage Company on Winchester's downtown walking mall but there are those who say that Jenny is not willing to talk radio. I guess it depends on the person. Jenny had made a lot of friends in radio but also has made a large number of enemies too. Her husband Randy Woodward still does mornings at The River 95.3 and teams up with WINC's Barry Lee for the television coverage of Winchester's Apple Blossom Grand Feature Parade but Randy is no longer PD at The River. as Lonnie Hill is.
Randy is in his mid 60s now and frankly I am a but surprised he is still on the air but then again so is WINC's Barry Lee.

I am curious as to what happened to WFQX's Ben Gates aka...Elwood King. I know after he was fired at WFQX 99.3 The Fox he took a job with Target but a few years ago several people on Facebook and DCRTV reported seeing Ben panhandling for cash around Winchester and Martinsburg, West Virginia. He was even holding a sign that says "I am Elwood King from 99.3 The FOX...remember me ??". Sad if true !!!

oh..forgot to add...Jenny Lynn and her "men". A lot of people would like to think only good things about Jenny. The kind voice in the morning, "roll over and turn me on", sweet Jenny and so forth but there was Tom Barney who was GM at Q102. Jenny got him fired after being at Q102 for only five months !! There was Kyle Painter from Q102. Jenny made a pass at him and bingo he too was fired. Warren Gosnell went to take a job at WFTR and not only did Jenny call him an SOB she never spoke to him again. Wendy Robbins and Norma Jean Shaw ?? Jenny wanted to be the only female voice on Q102 so out they went. Jay Lakin ?? One day he took a request from a listener, Jenny didn't like it and he too as fired. Towards the end even the listeners were tired of Jenny. Jenny was pregnant but that pregnancy lasted over a year and listeners were fed up with it. How much so ?? Well WINC beat Q102 for the first time in the ratings !! Now when Jenny went to Apple Country 104.9/105.5 I don't know how she was but when the station flipped format to classic rock they didn't tell Jenny Lynn so SHE was fired !! Well they say karma is a *****.. Jenny Lynn tried getting on Martinsburg's WLTF ( then "Lite 97.5" ) but WLTF heard the stuff about Jenny so she wasn't hired. WXVA 98.3...same thing and of course WFTR wasn't going to hire her either. so she went to Food Lion.

It's nice to think of good thoughts about someone but remember there is another side.
