RTV also plans to air some filmation cartoons this fall. they already air The Archies. BTW, who is going to be watching He-Man and She-Ra at 1 AM? I never really liked the toy commercial cartoons back when they first run.

You have to give them credit for doing something different.
They'll probably get more viewers with this than with middle-of-the-night reruns of "Postman Pat" and "Gofrette."

So much for qubo showing E/I 24/7.

If your kid is routinely up at that hour of the night, I don't think non-educational TV is his biggest problem.

Looks like qubo needs a name change; they're abandoning their original mission. Unfortunately, "Q" is already taken.

Sure sign I must be old - I laughed when I saw He-Man and She-Ra listed as "retro".

No "Fat Albert"? That was the only Filmation program worth anything... or maybe they're saving that for their E/I fare... Now, there's an idea... Hey, hey, hey...

And who knows if Filmation is buying the time?

They're not, because they no longer exist -- Filmation closed its doors soon after L'Oreal cosmetics bought the studio from Group W in 1988. Classic Media now owns most of its output.

Is that right? Sounds like an unlikely combination. They must have really wanted a She-Ra tie-in with their hair care products real bad...

I hope this includes the Filmation version of Tom and Jerry (known as the Tom and Jerry Comedy Show). I haven't seen these on TV since WTTV-4 in Indianapolis aired them in the late 80's/early 90's (although, viewing the clip below, these were shown on Boomerang at some point). I also remember seeing them on WFLD-32 in Chicago, long before the "Fox 32" days.

The music, by far, is my favorite aspect of this series...it's so random and the same segments are used repeatedly. (The animation quality and storyline leave much to be desired).

EDIT: Here's a longer clip of the full program - from KMSP/Minneapolis, 1985:

Wasn't the low quality of Filmation the thing that made it great :)

I mean they took the Archie, characters and replaced the heads with the Brady Kids and well gave them new songs and well that was that

"Fat Albert" airing on PBS. I'll have to file this under the "commercial shows airing on PBS stations" thread on the Classic TV board...

Now I'll be thinking of the Little River Band every time I flip by qubo....

I already do whenever I flip by Imus on Fox Business. "Have you heard about the lonesome loser..." ::)

Hay, all right, they are bringing back "Spliced"!

Next thing to do is air it alongside a block of "Ren & Stimpy". Qubo'll then have earned themselves another faithful viewer. ;o)
