Which is on the Rhino "Just Can't Get Enough" series. Volume 5, to be exact.
______________

The extended mix is also on the Canadian release Classic Alternatives, Vol. 4.

You're going to pay about $10.00 for either one on Half.com, though.
______________

Yeah...that's what I was going to answer; what was with that question anyway? :)

Queen

This is a great example of listener's choice.

when "We Are The Champions" was released as a single, the album was a huge hit
and listeners were calling stations asking, "why didn't you play the 'We Will Rock You' part of the song?'. To those who had the album, THEY heard it as one tune.

So, radio responded appropriately and played them together to fulfill listener demand. And, in that form, "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions" is a classic.

Years ago when I got the album, I also assumed it was one song, but one day I looked at the CD player and saw that the tracks switched, it was just a really quick switch.

A few others...

Chicago - Hard To Say I'm Sorry / Get Away (Most AC stations just fade it out at the transition between the two songs, which always sounds odd to me.)

Beatles - Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight (I've always heard it played together, as there's no graceful way to play only one of these two songs.)

Jackson Browne - The Load Out / Stay (AC radio usually only plays "Stay", with an abrupt beginning that doesn't sound that odd because we've gotten so used to hearing it that way.)

Billy Joel - Scenes From an Italian Restaurant (If you think about it, the whole "Brenda & Eddie" part is like a different song stuck in the middle; with some careful editing, you can cut it out and just be left with the surrounding song. I've never heard anyone besides myself actually play it that way, though.)

Re: A few others...

Did anyone say the songs from Sgt. Pepper? The first and last song on the album are combined with the theme song.

I don't know about that one. It is the same song, such as Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey. Just one song with two parts.

Re: Single of Soft Cell

I have a 12" single of the two songs combined, but it is vinyl.

You are right, I just checked out the "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" album on amazon and they are both track 1. All this time I thought they were two songs, but they are two parts.

You mean about the factual errors, I guess so?

Re: Single of Soft Cell

I would do that for you if I knew how to do it.

Another where two songs were combined and a big hit was Mitch Ryder doing Devil In A Blue Dress/Good Golly Miss Molly. One song.

While on the subject of the Beatles, it irritates me no end when I hear She Came in Through the Bathroom Window not preceded by at least Mean Mr. Mustard and Polythene Pam. Personally, I like to start at Because and let it go, as each following track on the album (Abbey Road, of course) up though Bathroom Window flows seamlessly into the next...

...If you have 13:25 or so to kill...(10:41 if you eliminate Because; 6:39 if you start it at Sun King; or 4:13 starting with Mean Mr. Mustard. Your opinion and/or math may vary.)

The two songs are very close together on the record; Champions starts only about two seconds ofter the last chord of one of basketball's favorite tunes.

I have only heard the two songs separated (1) on KCDX, which apparently programmed them as separate tracks for their (mostly) random airplay; and (2) one time a station played Fat Bottomed Girls in place of Champions. (Dunno about you, but I kinda liked having that song as a followup -- unexpected, and probably a good idea for an April Fools' prank.)
