Question about employment in Louisville Radio

Me and my girlfriend plan to move to Louisville once she finshes up her College. She is going to school to be a nurse and lives just 35 miles north of Louisville. We both agree that Louisville would be a good place to move because of the top quality and numerous amounts of Medical Facilities scattered across the metro. I want her to have as many, and the best opportunity possible. The question is, how hard would it be for me to get a job in Louisville radio. Ive worked at a small market CHR years ago, but would be willing to do on air, or board op at any of the comercial stations in louisville. Format isnt a big deal to me, as I like all kinds of music and think I could easily adjust to relate to my listeners. Is WDJX easy to get a job at since they are owned by a smaller company now. I know its hard to get on at CC stations unless you know somebody. If anyone can answer or help out I would appreciate it. I would like to work at that Dance Station on 99.3 after they get licensed and start adding jocks, but I would imagine they would be mostly staffed by volunteers. Remember, Im up for any radio jobs, it makes no difference on what Format it is.
 
I can't answer your question but the 99.3 dance station is no where to be found lately just static on 99.3 as of this writing on january 11th 2008 3 hours ago. Good luck dude may the radio gods shine down enthusiastically upon you in 08!!!

Take my advice and stay away from radio. You'll never make any money unless you go into sales. Board ops are a dime a dozen and most are worth exactly that. To my knowledge 99.3 is a prirate.
 
If he wants to work in radio don't discourage him WHOKILLEDRADIO. He said he already has experience so he should know what he's getting himself into.

Hey mid west clubber get to know as mnay people as possible in louisville radio go to live remotes and seif you can chat with whomever you can get a vibe if they will want to be chated for ya never know. But also it is all in who you know and putting yourself in situations where something can happen. In the late 80s early 90s when i was a freshman at u of l i worked at the campus radio station am 570 wlcv well this chick named becky worked there and ron clay or was it troy anyways one of the powers that be from wqmf was down there one day andn heard beckys voice and said she should do a aircheck tape and take it to the station so she did and they hired her for the morning show to do traffic and she eventually did some overnights. Evntually she got a shift at mix 102 doing pillow talk and most recently she was doing louie fm till they replaced her with jill laurens and now she is gone but i amtalking about rebecca lake. This was though in the otting broadcasting days before clear channel bought them. Rebecca once told me that once she fell asleep when she did overnights and there was dead air forget how long but she kept her job. And being a cute young chick did not hurt. So you never know just keep plugging away something will happen ya want to.
 
Thanks for the Advice.... 99.3 will be back though. They have gone down before and always came back. As far as I know 99.3 has a pending license, and is owned by a church Organization Edge Water Broadcasting. They probably didnt feel like they could compete with the other religious stations with that signal, so they used Dance,, Another form or positive uplifting music. I noticed alot of the dance songs on 99.3 had sudtle religious messages to them, and they didnt seem to play anything sexual or vulgar.
