Radio-dislocator shows WILD 1090 and WXKS 1430 as being 1/2 mile apart from each other.

How come? I thought they were diplexed into the same towers...??

Am I missing something here..??

Radio-locator probably simply hasn't updated the coordinates on their WILD entry since their move to the WXKS (AM) site. WILD used to be on their own tower about a half-mile from the WXKS towers. They moved to the WXKS site last year.

Eli's right,WILD now shares the same space w/WXKS AM and Disney. The task was completed not long after the WILD FM transmitter project @ Blue Hill.
The previous site was developed in residential space.Things should have been up-dated.

they are diplexed on the same tower behind the WXKS facility next to the Wellington T station.

The towers were still there when I left work today at 4:30 so my info is up to date. The closest broadcast towers to them are the 590 towers on the other side of Wellington Circle. FNX's old tower can be seen from there too it is about 2 miles away if I had to take a guess.

The old WILD tower came down earlier this year, it is still a no mans land down there, Ed Markey's "Telecom City".. (remember him the guy that single handedly screwed cable TV customers across the nation... ) is a failure, the only thing down on that stretch of road is the Tufts University boat house for crew.

Disney? You mean WMKI 1260? As far as I know, they still transmit from three towers by the Neponset River near the Quincy/Milton line.
