Question for those of you in the Non-Commercial band

I've noticed a lot this summer that the Non-Commercial band here in New Jersey is basically unuseable due to interference from people using FM modulators for thier IPod and satellite radio.

Is anything going to be done to combat this?

These FM modulators block out even the strongest of signals and can block out more distant stations up to 1/4 mile away from the "offending" vehicle!

What can anyone do? They are Part 15 devices, and the FCC allows them. It is going to be hard to enforce inteferenbce regulation when thousands of these things are "on the air" at 65 mph on the Interstate.
The horses have left the barn and are in the next county now.

You are getting iPOD transmitters from a 1/4 mile away???? Something is fishy here.

Interesting..
I have one of thse modulators on My IPOD when I use a rented car..
If I put the IPOD on the back seat It does not work well with the radio
It works when I place the IPOD on the dash.. Range is about 2 feet.. what interference are you complaining about

Hi

I bought one of those mp3 transmitters (as they're called) with digital readout & be set to any frequency on FM & it has a range of up to 500m!

These are very good stereo FM TXers too! - clean signal with no spurs or harmonics anywhere on the FM band.
