after about four years of being placed on a crappy AM signal, KSJL AM 810 is finally killed off by CC for a chirstian hits format. It's sad that this great station with great R&B and urban music was killed off back in 1998 for a stupid top 40 station, then placed on a low grade FM signal two years later, and then to an unlistenable AM signal. San Antonio, I believe, does have a place for R&B music, but unfortunately, all we have are stupid hip hop stations ( I HATE hip hop) and an "old school" station which plays bee gees over issac hayes, and oversatuation of the typical mowtown songs on our 60s/70s hits station. The argument would be that we're mostly hispanic, there isn't a large percentage of african americans, blah blah blah. Well, I'm a white dude who loves R&B and has for years and years. KSJL back in the 90s was the station that turned me onto R&B. But at least I can now look forward to moving to HOuston soon and will enjoy the sounds of Magic 102.1.
