Longtime Boston radio and TV personality Elizabeth Kilham has passed away at the age of 81.
You may know her by her "on-air" name of Bette Day. While she did some television work at WBZ-4 (doing live commercials in the early days of television), she is perhaps best remembered for her stints as a radio personality playing big bands and adult standards at the old WHET-1330 from 1975 to 1978; and then at WXKS-1430 for most of the 1980's. She also worked at Framingham's WKOX back when it was a daytimer at 1190, although I don't know if she was a DJ, news anchor or reporter, or talk-show hostess.
Her last TV appearance was quite recently, in a commercial for Brooksby Village in Peabody, a retirement home at which she lived for the last several years of her life.
