R.I.P. Michael Jackson "King of Pop" Dead at 50

The King of Pop is gone from us.

Aside from the tabloid trash media that loved to hate him as "Jacko" and the likes thereof...you cannot discredit his contribution to music no matter how you feel about him.

His years with the Jackson Five, then his solor albums "Off The Wall" and "Thriller" will remain his legacy.

He was a kid at heart and disliked the adult world.

He wasn't allowed to be an average kid offstage and out of the studio during his Jackson 5 years which may explain at least in part some of his troubles.

Judy Garland also had a similar life of pain, drugs and ruined marriages stemming from her experiences of being an overworked child actress(thanks to her overbearing slave-driving mother) when she worked for "Uncle Louie" at MGM.

AS for the tabloid purveyors who waged the vicious hate campaign that took him down to near-nothing (much to the delight of its captive white trash readers),all I can say is:

JUDGE NOT...OR YOU'LL BE JUDGED!

I wonder if TV Land will put on the classic "Jackson 5ive" cartoon series? After all, it isn't as if TV Land (cable channel) and Worldvision (TV distributor) have different parents (CBS in both cases). Maybe do a "J5" marathon along with various MJ specials.

About six months or so ago, I heard in the news that he wanted to make things right with Paul McCartney, and supposedly left the rights to all the Beatles' songs (that he owned anyway) to McCartney. Anyone know if that is true? I remember people saying at the time that if he really wanted to patch things up with McCartney, he should have given Paul the rights to those songs while he was still alive! Can't argue with that, but better late than never! Others commented (at that time) about the irony of leaving something to someone older than oneself. That does make it seem like Michael had a premonition about his own death!

This morning on CNN they said Sony owned the rights to the Beatles music as collateral against Michael's debts.

Okay, thanks for the update. If you hear anything more, let me know. It seems like the media is more interested in what happens to his kids. I figure there are contingency plans for that, and a large enough family that that should not even be an issue.
