>>FCC agents paid four different visits to Gabriel A. Garcia of San Jose and three times found an unlicensed operation at 92.9 and then a fourth time detected a broadcast at 104.3. The case goes back a year, to March 2010, and now Garcia is issued an unusually stiff fine of $25,000. The FCC says "We find Garcia’s misconduct particularly egregious because his operation resulted in apparent interference to the FAA’s Aviation Radio Services band." The base fine for unlicensed operation is $10,000, and is adjusted this time upward to $25,000.
