Rabbis Want Fox News To Punish Beck, Ailes For Demeaning Holocaust

Over 400 rabbis signed a letter requesting that Fox News sanction Glenn Beck, for his "[diminishing] the memory and meaning of the Holocaust" on this TV show, as well as the network's own boss, Roger Ailes, as the network fails to "exercise... sensitivity" on the subject:

By the way, the letter was posted in a full-page advertisement in the Wall Street Journal - which is owned by the same person that owns Fox News. :p

Personally, I would like to see both Fox News and Clear Channel fire Beck; if MSNBC can fire their biggest star, Keith Olbermann, Fos and CC should also fire Beck.

Is there ANY subject where they exercise sensitivity? Seems to me they're pretty insensitive to the Moslems too. Aha! Something where Jews and Arabs can agree!

I'm just waiting for the hue and cry because some religious types are getting involved in politics and trying to tell a company how to run their business.

If they don't like Beck, they should change the channel. Or there's always the "off" button.

So what was Fox's big offense? They called the people at NPR who fired Juan Williams "nazis." I'm surprised these rabbis didn't go after Jerry Seinfeld for the "Soup Nazi" episode. Oh, wait. Seinfeld is Jewish, it's OK for him to do it.

What did Beck do? He attacked George Soros. Right-wingers do it all the time. But Soros is Jewish, so that's a no-no.

Funny, Rush makes fun of Chinese and people on this board say those who object are too thin-skinned. But Fox and Beck aren't "sensitive" enough.

Here's a little-known fact about the "holocaust." The Nazis murdered 12 million people. Six million were Jews. The others were not, but sensitivity doesn't seem to extend to them. Nor does it extend to the Palestinians. Not to the Armenians either. These rabbis demand "sensitivity" but are unwilling to show it to anyone else.

This is so ridiculous...so infantile.

Glenn Beck does not work for Fox News, they are simply airing his show.

Just like Rush Limbaugh whose syndicating company is Excellence In Broadcasting (distributed by Premiere Networks), Glenn Beck is syndicated by his own media company which is Mercury Radio Arts. Fox buys the show from Beck, and like Limbaugh with his show, has some kind of advertising revenue sharing deal.

So what are the rabbis going to do? Are they all going to hold their collective breaths until Fox blows up? But it is kind of funny that they would support a publication whose parent corporation owns Fox!

This type of "victim" activism being promoted by minority groups do not do anything to lift or promote their cause. I'm sure the ad rep at the WSJ who took their order was happy, though.

I saw the Daily Show recently and I noticed that Jon Stewart attacked FOX and Senator Steve Cohen of D-TN overusing the word NAZI in its show.

Not trying to say you're wrong, but I think the error in thinking may come from the idea that there is a syndicated show as well as a "Fox news show".

On radio, Glenn Beck works for himself, with another company distributing his show. But on TV, he works for Fox News, effectively making him and Ailes liable.
