Radio 105.7 comes to Atlanta. Is it coming for NYC soon?

Do you believe CC would flip possibly Power to Alternative as Radio 105.7 and have KTU go Rhythmic-Dance-Hip Hop?

I think our friend Tony Santiago might have a bit of a different opinion on this.... :)

No, CC's portfolio is doing very well. No reason to screw with what works.

I have a question with regards to the format itself. When WRXP was on the radio it was always said here the ratings were good, and when it was dropped the argument against that was that the ratings were good. If so, why didn't it stick? Is it hard for advertisers or is it something else? While I'm not the biggest fan of the music (not my personal preference) you have to admit it does get ratings, but why can't it remain on the air in NYC?

You called Andrea? :) Okay...here's my answer....look carefully now.......

NO!!!!!!!!

If Clear Channel owned 92.3, they'd probably have flipped it to Alternative by now - but CBS stubbornly hates the format, and CC has nothing to flip (Urban has a guaranteed listener base - no way they'd flip that in NYC)

See the thread below for some possible answers. But in the case of New Rock, the answer was that Merlin lost a lot of money through the hot mess they made of FM News. Had they started out with the tweaked alternative they put out for RXP 2.0 in the first place, they would still be running 101.9 today.

I agree that CC doesn't have any station that it would consider flipping, but I have to say that if Radio 105.7 is anything like Radio 104.5 out of Philly, I'd listen to it. I can get Radio 104.5 clearly in my car when I'm up by my mom's house in Bedminster NJ and I actually really enjoy the mix of music on it.
