I inherited them when I bought my station. Best check I ever got from them was about $200.00. As far as these boiler room closers go, they're about as good as any of them.
Bear in mind though. You can tell them who to call on, but eventually someone who buys one of their $20.00 spots (you get $4.00), will sit in a church pew with one of your advertisers who is paying $4.00 and they'll talk about their advertising. Hilarity will not ensue.
They also use canned scripts that may or not be market appropriate. The spots don't sell the business or service in any way. It's just feel good mentions on the radio that will do nothing to drive your advertisers business. Their pitch will tell you that if they get a prospect that wants regular advertising, they'll refer them to you... just expanding your sales staff. I never got one of those calls. And how do you then explain to this new prospect that spots sold on the phone cost $20.00, but spots that actually work cost only $4.00.
Essentially, you are allowing some high pressure closers to take $1,000 out of your market to get 150-200 back with no noticeable gain for anyone other than your share and their bigger share. Properly handled, it's 150-200 you likely wouldn't have gotten anyway
I felt like I needed a shower everytime I voiced one of their worthless canned spots, so I dropped them. If you need a couple hundred bucks that badly, RAI is as good as any of the other Chitown boiler rooms.
My two cents
