Radio stations you'd like to see go in Detroit

Talk of WWJ moving to FM has been brought up on this board for several months.

I just can't see CBS giving up one of their FMs, all of which are doing well to move a station that is doing well in its own right.

I would like to see 106.7 THE D go and flip back to Rhythmic AC or Rhythmic CHR as 106.7 THE BEAT OF DETROIT.

106.7 THE D sucks, and I would love to see that station go.

Why? So the same thing that happened before it flipped to Classic Rock can happen again? Fat chance. Keep The D as it is.

I agree; Detroit does need a Rhythmic station. But, as I keep saying over and over, CC cab't be the one to run it. And if for some reason you forgot....why do you think The D exist now?

There lies why we won't see Rhythmic here in Detroit unless something magical happens. Cumulus won't do it because 96.3 is doing great, and you are not trying to take listeners away from them. Radio one is pretty much Urban based, so that rules them out. CBS Radio could have done it if AMP continued to struggle, but there isn't a need for them to do that now. and Clear Channel would never operate a well programmed station that had a chance to threaten 95.5(sincerely yours, 106.7 The Beat). 106.7 The D has higher ratings than 106.7 The Beat had pretty much through their entire run, their cumulative audience is higher, and this format is likely going to stick for a while. They had their chance to go Sports, and now that's not even an option, they won't be the station that challenges WYCD, so the D is here for a while.
