November 16, 2007 (Phoenix, AZ) - Local entrepreneur, Danielle Hampson, and Phoenix-area media personality Austin Hill have teamed up to launch the Austin Hill Show, a web based television program that focuses on people, issues, events and politics. Hill is best known in Arizona for his current work as a columnist for the East Valley Tribune newspaper, and as a radio talk show host at both 550 KFYI, and 960 KKNT in Phoenix. The show is broadcast online at www.ArizonaWebTV.com, a webTV station part of the Wnb Network (West) owned and operated by Hampson, and which specializes in the production and broadcast of “EduTaining” webTV programs.
The show opens in November with “Islam and Democracy”, a series that aims to give viewers a better understanding of Islam and its own internal fight that contributes to further the hatred towards the West and more specifically the United States of America, and examines possible solutions to this ever growing conflict. In its first few webisodes, Austin Hill interviews Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, a local medical doctor who is also the founder of the American-Islamic Forum for Democracy. Dr. Jasser frequently contributes his expertise on Islam to radio and television programs around the country.
The Austin Hill Show will bring to the on-demand web viewing format a variety of topics of local, national and global interest. Hill states that he believes the Internet is the right place to do this, as the technology enables the show to transcend all geographical boundaries, and hence reach a much wider audience. “Although still a new medium, Web TV is growing very rapidly and should not be discounted as a future major player in the broader media marketplace”, says Hill. “Both traditional print media outlets, and over-the-air broadcast media outlets, are all searching for ways to integrate webTV content into their overall on-line presence. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for us as both content providers, and distributors.”
“My online broadcast network is committed to the production and online broadcasting of EduTaining content,” explains Hampson. “The addition of the Austin Hill Show fits perfectly with my philosophy of helping viewers become better informed citizens.” The show is accessible via www.ArizonaWebTV.com, www.WnbNetworkWest.com, and various other websites. It is also available through RSS feed and video podcast.
