Radio/TV broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow born 100 years ago on April 23rd

On April 23rd, at 1800 UTC, Erin Brummett, host of Talk 2 America(T2A), the Voice of America's on-line chat, will discuss Ed Murrow with Lynne Olson, a journalist who with her husband, Stanley Cloud has chronicled his career in the book "The Murrow Boys." If my conversion is correct, 1800 UTC is 2p.m. EDT.

Murrow, the recipient of nine Emmy Awards, was at the helm at the U.S. Information Agency, which oversaw VOA, from 1961 until 1964 at which time he retired because of lung cancer.

Re: Radio/TV broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow born 100 years ago on April 2

Edward R. Murrow was a great one! I remember hearing a recording of His broadcast from Buchenwald Concentration camp, It was very moving. He was crying while interviewing an American who got stuck in Germany when the war started and had been in Buchenwald for four years.
