My Darlin’ Neurons,
Before we get to the Business at hand, we should tell you that our Photos tonight come from quite a Range of Musical Variety: TRUCK, UNKNOWN LOCALS, LOWDOWN, COCKER SPANIELS, THE ARM, and 3 KISSES. We even got Adventurous without the flash and borrowed the lens of the generous Chris Moriarty (http://cwmgallery.com/) for a few Cocker Spaniels photos. Coolness. The Austin Indie Alliance put on another great Musical Summit.
It’s been an peaceful year so far, but it has hit all of us differently, and most recently, our dear friend Christine sent out a rather profound email about her beloved tabby cat who left his earthly frame after bringing smiles of peace and happiness to Christine and probably a few other people. Send out your good thoughts to my friend. She deserves a big hug we can’t be there to give her right now. And go and check out http://petloss.com/
We also wish Christine could be here for the RadioMike Festival On Saturday. If you are anywhere near Austin, Texas, you all should come down to Trophy’s on South Congress and enjoy the music and Support these bands. There is more information on our site but here is the “short” version:
NEW YORK PERSONALITY BRINGS ECLECTIC MIX OF TALENT TOGETHER IN AUSTIN
The First Annual “RadioMike Festival” will also benefit music charity.
(Austin, TX) Well-known producer and radio personality Mike Perazzetti, AKA "RadioMike" hosts an eclectic festival of music at Trophy’s Bar in Austin, Texas on Saturday June 24th to benefit an unpublicized musician’s charity and will feature several local Texas artists.
Since 2001, RadioMike (www.thefeveredbrainofradiomike.com) has been producing his unique brand of entertainment via his Internet show, "The Fevered Brain of RadioMike." Originating in New York City, the show has amazing range and diversity in regards to musical genres. Ranging from Hip-Hop to cartoon music, to Country, Antifolk, and a wide variety of Pop, Rock and World music, RadioMike seeks to expose unknown artists from around the world to anyone and everyone’s musical taste.
Before arriving in Austin, Texas, RadioMike dedicated his efforts to educating listeners in New York, concentrating on the East Village and Antifolk. More than was expected, musicians worldwide would send demos of their music to his show, helping RadioMike achieve his goal and expand his collection.
As stated on his Myspace profile: “His mission: Playing anything and everything as long as it is good, original, and melodic enough to mix with anything and everything that he has in his collection and his fevered brain.”
In this pursuit of discovering and launching unknown local and world artists, Mike has bravely struck out to create the RadioMike Festival which will take place June 24, 2006, from 8:00pm to 2:00am, with a fantastic set of artists offering a plethora of musical flavors.
Stacey Steger (staceysteger.com) will grace the stage at 8:00pm with her Austin rock melodies that have been captivating listeners since her album “Surreal So Good” released in 2004. With Kristina Boswell (kristinaboswell.com), Maggie Walters (maggiewalters.com), Glenna Bell (glennabell.com) interpreting various folk and country rock themes, only to be followed by bands like Days Old Dream (daysolddream.com) and Cocker Spaniels (cspaniels.com) that will bring the charm of Classic Rock and Indie to the stage.
The two last acts to culminate the festival will be the Southern Backtones (southerbacktones.com) and Tee Double (teedouble.com). Southern Backtones, returning from a successful east-coast tour, will showcase their brand of Brit-Rock that has an unmistakable Texas attitude. Austin-based Hip-Hop artist Tee Double will close with a set of his lyrical prowess together with powerful rhythm and beats.
The first annual RadioMike Festival is an extension of RadioMike’s Internet Radio show and reflects what RadioMike would currently most like to see and hear at a house party: his own personal one night only live mix tape. RadioMike affirmed, “I just want to give back to the musical community that has given me so much since I started my show.”
