Rare Video of Dr. Metal giving tour of 94 HJY

1994 seems like yesterday to me but notice there are no computers on the sales desks? The newsroom is an AP fax, television, and a word processor. Galen's not so bad either! Where is she now?

I forwarded this to the current chief of the CC cluster here in Providence who is a good friend of mine.
Interesting stuff.

BTW, your video head on your VCR is out of electrical alignment.

It's an old video. I'm lucky it played at all. Some tapes are fine. Others not so much. I just heard from his daughter on youtube. She was very happy to see the video and said she misses him so much. I told her that we all miss him. He was a good guy.

Excellent find! Funny thing is, at the end when they did the break between Led Zeppelin songs, I was actually listening way back in '94 (maybe '95). Funny how there were several live people in a radio studio on a Friday night in Providence back in the 90s...how times change!

It really is a miracle this tape exists. It was part of some cable access show I never watched or even heard of. I just happened to be channel flipping and heard they would be giving a tour of HJY. So I quickly hit the record button because it sounded like it may be cool. I don't think cable studios take very good care of old cable access tapes. They probably erased this thing a long time ago. What I posted is probably the only copy there is. I'm glad so many people are enjoying it.

Fascinating video, Sky. Is The Doctor in the Rhode Island Radio Hall of Fame? If not, then Mr. Rooke, may I respectfully make the suggestion? The Doctor's selfless actions on the night of The Fire alone warrant his admission. He gave his life to save others.
