Is anyone smart enough to check the FCC database for backup facilities? I am pretty sure 107.3 kept the old antenna site as a backup when they moved over to Fireworks World but that was a long time ago... maybe they let it go or didn't keep a strong enough transmitter to push out 100kw ERP.
If the old facilities still exists, couldn't they flip back and forth at will depending on tropospheric conditions? Or would the FCC get mad?
Otherwise, CC should have known exactly what 107.3 would produce from Fireworks World, therefore they should have had a mono, non-music, or niche format backup plan in mind just in case the 107.3 signal didn't perform.
Could 107.3 upgrade to a C0 or full C directional signal and push the equivalent of 100kw east and 50kw west? I know WYCT 98.7 is somewhat directional to the east, I guess Sunny 98.5 is too close?
