Wouldn't exactly call WNSP a pea-shooter. They can be heard thru most of Baldwin. Starts to die south of Foley.

It it wasn't because of the co channel issue with 105.7, you would hear 105.5 with no issues in South Baldwin County. The same would hold true for 105.7, you would hear it in Mobile (in the car), and the Eastern Shore.

Better have a ton of patience waiting for Bama, Auburn or Saints rights. WNSP/WZEW have those locked up and won't let them go. Can't put them on a 100k stick. WBSR would be suing everybody since they have market rights for Pcola to Bama and Saints. If it was 100.7, WNSP would be suing about Mobile rights. About the only thing that could happen is if a stick the size of, let's say Magic 106 in Pcola, went sports and was able to grab things away from WBSR. Better reach in Pcola without stomping on Mobile market rights.

1. 'Most' of Baldwin, blah. WNSP's a mono class A. Even with good engineering to make it more 'local', 105.5's audience is mostly through car stereos. That antenna is on the wrong side of I-10, and if Clear Channel ever did something with its 100.3 translator--it'd almost match it with less than a tenth of the wattage. For that matter, not even WZEW 92.1 can hit Foley and the beaches with a can't-miss signal.

2. Neither WNSP/WZEW have the Auburn rights, that's WAVH "FM Talk" 106.5. And Auburn's 'Pensacola' affiliate? WPFL 105.1, Century. You're telling me Cumulus can't throw money or some no-charge engineering work the way of Bigler Broadcasting and/or WHEP Foley (the latter of which is a daytimer with a pea-shooting translator) to make them sit on their hands?

3. Why isn't there some sort of precedence in allowing one of the 100kw stations to have Tide or Tiger sports? I know 107.3 held the Tide contract during part of its oldies stint as "Cool 107.3", duplicating the local signals of some of these very smaller stations/broadcasters also.
 
Is WCSN Sunny 105.7 not carrying Auburn football this year? WCSN actually reaches Pensacola, WPFL doesn't have any useable signal south of I-10. What team(s) is Hale carrying on The Ticket this year?

Actually WZEW has a fairly good signal in lower Baldwin County, and has a few South Baldwin Advertisers.
