Re: JamTraxx Radio Mixes - Dance "Best of 2005"
Hello my fellow dance music fans and supporters!
RadioMixes-Dance™ Best of 2005 (Show #601) is complete. Let the debate begin (just kidding!). It was actually difficult to put this chart together this year. I based my chart upon a mixture of national CHR charts, Energy 92.7 and other affiliates' playlists, XM and Sirius Dance Charts, and number of actual plays in our RadioMixes-Dance™ mixshow throughout the year. I had already assembled this list at least a week before the Billboard Dance Radio chart came out. When that chart did come out, I was already halfway through production of the show. Yet I was surprised how somewhat similar the two charts compared. Heheheh.
All of the above-mentioned national charts and station playlists had vastly different results. All of the dance stations and our affiliates had VERY different programming this year. Some songs had more spins at certain stations than others. Sometimes a song wasn't present at all at one station, while they were in power rotation another. I also had to take in account beat-per-minute changes and transitions between songs, so it was very necessary to move tracks around to ensure flow. I also left out some songs that some may consider important and actually had decent rotations at certain stations, such as Shakira/Alejandro Sanz - La Tortura (House Mix), Rupee - Tempted To Touch (Dance Mix), Angel City - Do You Know (I Go Crazy), Bob Sinclair - Love Generation, Lenny B featuring Kristy Kay - I Touch Myself, Jenna Drey - Killin' Me, Mynt - Still Not Sorry, and Samantha Cole - Fascinated, to name just a few). Sorry. It just couldn't be helped.
