RE:Start up costs for low power FM station in ATL metro area

Can anyone tell me what, roughly, the start up costs of a low power fm station in the metro atlanta area would cost? If the primary goal of the station would be just to play music, not really many or any air personalities.

Next window expected to be in October 2013.

In Atlanta, you will need a consulting engineer to help an application make it through the process.
The licensee must be a nonprofit but does not have to be 501(c)3.

I would expect multiple applicants in Atlanta so it may be a long, drawn out process.

Could be done anywhere from $7k to $21k depending on the particular situation.

Check out the community radio board here on the forums for a thread related to LPFMs. Poster bturner has been visiting LPFMs around the country. Some barely hanging on and others doing better.

Chances are the FCC will ultimately want live bodies at the station 8 hours a day. Just things you should be aware of. LPFMs must have EAS, also.
