RE-TRANS MESS IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TX: KRIS-NBC ADDS ON CBS, CABLE GIVES ANTENNAS

Time Warner Cable and KRIS are at an impasse. NBC KRIS is running tell TWC you miss us adds on CBS KZTV (they have a news story sharing agreement).

TWC has given out 21,000 antennas so folks can get NBC KRIS, but demand is not that great since few are watching NBC anyway these days

KRIS files complaint with the FCC. TWC responds to the FCC that it's unfair for KRIS to bash TWC on
KZTV.

That would appear to raise First Amendment issues. I would not hold my breath waiting for the
FCC to do anything about that.

I'm curious if Time-Warner would feel the same way if KRIS were paying cash for the time on KZTV.

KRIS must be feeling the revenue loss during the February sweeps, else they wouldn't be squealing so much. ;D

This is your basic Fat Cat vs. Fat Cat fight. No sympathy for either side. :p

What kind of antennas do they give away?

Hope they're giving away a VHF-Hi only antenna, or a VHF-Hi/UHFcombo antenna, since KRIS-TV is broadcasting on RF 13. More than likely though, they're probably giving out flat panel antennas that work best for UHF than VHF. I'm not even a fan of using those 4 & 8 bay whisker antennas that some people claim to work on VHF-Hi as well, but from my experience, is a hit or miss.
