REM re-releases "Radio Free Europe" as a benefit for Radio Free Europe

Worlds collide: R.E.M. rereleases 'Radio Free Europe' single to benefit the threatened news service

"Radio Free Europe" was the song that introduced the world to REM in 1981. While the CHR mainstream didn't catch up with with REM until their 1987s Document album when "The One I Love" crossed over, within a few years, there was no escaping them.

This version will reportedly also be the rawer sounding original 1981 Hib-Tone single version. The more familiar version is found on their 1983 album Murmur.

There will also be a 2025 Remixed version
