Reminder WHN Reunion Monday 2/25 On Air Reunion Tuesday 2/26

For all those in the NYC area:
WHN radio reunion Monday, February 25th at Hill Country Live, 30 West 26th Street in Manhattan
WHN switched to a country format on February 26th, 1973 and remained country for fifteen years.
Advertised opening is at 7:00 pm, but Hill Country will actually open at 6:00 pm
At 7:30 pm I will moderate a panel with deejays from WHN's "glory days" Lee Arnold, Larry Kenney, Dan Taylor, Mike Fitzgerald, Jessie and Alan Colmes
Live Music by "The Bellamy Sons" Noah and Jessie will follow
Admission to Hill Country Live is free to everyone for this event. Listeners welcome.
I plan to have some copies of my new book (WHN: When New York City Went Country) available

For everyone:
The next day, Tuesday February 26, there will be a on air reunion of Lee Arnold, Larry Kenney, Dan Taylor, Mike Fitzgerald and Jessie (with Gene Ladd doing news) from 9:00 am until 3:45 pm on 89.1 WFDU. The broadcast will also be available via streaming audio at http://player.warpradio.com/php/WFDU-FM/

A must for fans of the former country station WHN. The on air reunion of some of its personalities is now being broadcast on WFDU 89.1. WHN dj Lee Arnold is currently on the air, and sounds great. Songs by some of the core WHN artists, such as the Oak Ridge Boys, Dolly Parton, and Kenny Rogers are being played. They are also running WHN jingles, and interviews with some of the stars.

I totally enjoyed listening to a couple of hours of the WHN reunion right here in Luxembourg! Reminded me of driving around NJ with my Dad in his old station wagon back in the 70's. It was great to hear a lot of familiar voices and songs. Hearing the jingles again was fun too! Made me feel young - thanks!

Sure wish the NYC stations could arrange to stop the IP blocking outside the USA. It was great to here WHN via WFDU!
