Report: Ex-Sacramentan Laura Ingle to FOX News Channel

LARadio.com reports that KFI/LA reporter Laura Ingle, who got her start in radio in Sacramento, is leaving the station for an on-camera gig at TV's FOX News Channel. Laura has been somewhat of a regular on the channel during the Michael Jackson trial and other high profile cases.

Laura started in radio at the Sacramento station now known as "98 Rock", and her first on-air full-time gig was as the station's night host. She gained notoriety for interrupting a station broadcast of an Eagles concert. Laura later moved into news and talk as afternoon news update anchor for KSTE/650, and then became a reporter for KSTE's new sister station, KFBK...where she worked before going to KFI.

Can someone provide more info on Ingle interrupting an Eagles concert broadcast? Sounds interesting. Thanks

Laura Ingle and the Eagles

Sure.

Laura used to be the night jock at what was then known as 93 Rock. (KRXQ used to occupy the 93.7 frequency, before swapping with - at the time - country KRAK-FM, then on 98.5 as the older-skewing flanker to giant KNCI/105.1.)

I wasn't in the market when she did it, and only know what I'd read in the paper, but she was apparently running a syndicated Eagles concert on her shift, and had enough...stopping the show, and running her own locally-run music instead.

Here's how now-former Bee "Media Savvy" columnist J. Freedom duLac described it in a story he did on Laura's news career last year:

-----------

"Ten years ago this month, Ingle was making news by yanking an Eagles concert off the air at 93 Rock, saying: 'You know, this show really sucks, and I'm not going to listen to it anymore.'

She summarily replaced the syndicated concert with some Led Zeppelin - a brazen stunt that led to physical threats, a two-day suspension and a place in local broadcasting lore."

----------

Laura did not get her "Rocker Chick" nickname lightly. :D

She's also one of the hardest working people in radio news, and soon to be TV news.

Gee, I don't know if that's anything to be proud of. She's lucky it was just a suspension. That station rocked pretty hard and I'll bet the Eagles weren't hard enough for her, but that's poor decision making, even if it was a show of how passionate she was. She's fortunate that it didn't hurt her career. If she kept doing things like that it would. Guess she learned that there are some lines you don't cross. Chalk it up to youth and inexperience...

Re: Laura Ingle and the Eagles

She was tenacious trying to get a spot on Fox...They finally caved...

She's not bad on the air, but she's not that good, either...Certainly not
as good as she THINKS she is...

STUNT!!! STUNT!!!! STUNT!!!!!
When did you guys get into the biz? Yesterday?

I just saw Ingle the Tingle on Fox News giving a news update. Looks like she got a nosejob among other things. She did have a large nose. She looks good.

Sorry, but that was no stunt. I know her well, and she definitely didn't do it as a stunt. She told me about that day, and she was just plain sick of listening to it, she says. Her PD was pretty pissed too.

There are plenty of TV personalities with nips and tucks. Helps their career. Toupees. Hair plugs. the whole thing. I like to play "Toupee or Not Toupee"? Is Walt Grey wearing a rug or are those plugs? Where are all the bald newscasters? Maybe Greta Van Susteren talked Laura into the rhinoplasty. When Greta went over to Fox News from CNN she got a ton of "work" done...it was actually part of the story. Maybe she gave Laura her plastic surgeon's card.

I'm not big on plastic surgery...however, if anyone needed a nose job, it was Laura.
