According to a report today, NBC and Hollywood Foreign Press Association said that the Golden Globe Awards scheduled for this Sunday 1/13 will not take place. http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/
The night won't be so much "news" as it will be a compromise:
* The HFPA will still get to give out the Globes (and have some sort of relevance in this awards season),
* If they so choose, the nominees can still attend and the winners can still pick up their awards,
* And NBC can still have a night of Globe-related programming while flipping their middle finger in the WGA's direction.
Gee what a loss not seeing a bunch of nobodies walking on a red carpet and the audience and viewers having to endure long-winded speeches. At least the writer's strike did TV us a favor here.
